Danny Howard's Dance Anthems opens Radio 1's Big Weekend at George Square in Glasgow.
Around 15,000 people arrive for the first day of Radio 1's Big Weekend in Glasgow. It's on from Friday 23 May until Sunday 25 May.
Danny Howard is the opening set of the weekend from George Square in Glasgow.
Coldplay and Katy Perry will headline the event, with One Direction, Kings of Leon and Pharrell Williams also featuring across the weekend.
Up to 50,000 people are expected to attend the free main festival which takes place on Glasgow Green on 24 and 25 May.
Other names appearing over the weekend include The Vamps, John Newman, Rita Ora, The 1975, Tinie Tempah and Paolo Nutini.
Bastille, Lorde and Lily Allen will perform across the weekend as well.
Zane Lowe, Annie Mac, Martin Garrix and Tiesto also performed in George Square as part of the weekend's opening Dance Night.
Glasgow missed out on rain on Friday night with fans camped out on the grass ahead of Dance Anthems.
When night started to fall, colour lit up Glasgow City Chambers in George Square.
Pete Tong DJ'd during the evening and said: "It's always a great thrill and great honour. I don't think we've ever gone on a full-out manner on a Friday for the dance and electronic DJs."
Tiesto was the headline DJ for the Friday night of Radio 1's Big Weekend.
And fireworks finished off a memorable night in the centre of Glasgow.
