Right then, it's time for me to call it a night. Thanks to Tom Rostance for his efforts earlier and to you lot, of course, for keeping us company all day. I'm back for Blackburn versus Liverpool on Tuesday but there is plenty more football for you to enjoy tonight because The Football League Show follows MOTD at 2335 BST (again on BBC One and this website in the UK). Cheerio for now.

  2. 2201

Match of the Day is actually on at 2220, but my advice to watch it still stands. Hopefully they will get to the bottom of who actually fouled Salomon Kalou for Chelsea's penalty. My money is on Trenton Oldfield - it was certainly wet enough at Craven Cottage tonight.

  3. Sam Britnell on Twitter: (external) "Chelsea bottled it, not looking forward to meeting Barcelona and the damage they are going to inflict on us."

Rawsheen Farren on Twitter: (external) "Liverpool guaranteed to buy and subsequently ruin Clint Dempsey this summer."

FULL-TIME Fulham 1-1 Chelsea MOTD's Jonathan Pearce at Craven Cottage

"Chelsea have failed to take advantage of Tottenham's defeat, while Newcastle continue to pour on the pressure for a top four place. Arsenal will be smiling tonight but there are still riddles to be answered about the battle for a top-four place."

  5. FULL-TIME Aston Villa 1-1 Stoke MOTD's John Roder at Villa Park

"What is it about these two and drawing matches? This was their fifth in eight Premier League meetings, and their third stalemate in row. A draw was just about the right result."

  6. FULL-TIME Everton 4-0 Sunderland MOTD's Steve Bower at Goodison Park

"With Steven Pienaar a real livewire in midfield, Everton warm up for their FA Cup semi-final with an extremely convincing win."

  7. FULL-TIME Newcastle 2-0 Bolton MOTD's Martin Fisher at Sports Direct Arena

"It was not Newcastle at their fluent best. They were stodgy in the first half but it was a truly fantastic goal by Hatem Ben Arfa which set them on the way to victory."

  8. motson
FULL-TIME Tottenham 1-2 Norwich MOTD's John Motson at White Hart Lane

"If anyone likes unpredictable football then White Hart Lane was the place to be. Norwich have pulled off a shock result which is a massive blow to Tottenham's Champions League hopes."

  9. 2154

Right, time for reminder of what happened in the top flight today. Five games, and plenty of talking points. You can watch them all on Match of the Day, which starts at 2220 BST on BBC One and this website (in the UK).

  10. 2153

So, Chelsea fall short of the win they needed to move into fourth place and instead stay sixth, but they are still very much in the mix for a Champions League place. Credit to Fulham, who deserved a point for that display and will feel harshly done by over the Blues' penalty. A draw is probably the fairest result.

  11. 2151
    FULL-TIME Fulham 1-1 Chelsea
  12. 2151

... but Fulham are defending as if their lives depend on it. Brede Hangeland makes a superb tackle to deny Frank Lampard on the edge of the area and that is just about all we have got time for.

  13. 2151

Newcastle, Tottenham and Arsenal fans all want this final whistle to blow as soon as possible. Chelsea launch the ball forward again...

  14. 2150

Two corners in quick succession for Chelsea. Their fans behind that goal try to suck the ball into the net, but to no avail. Fulham clear their lines, with only a minute of added time left.

  15. 2148

There will be three minutes of stoppage time at Craven Cottage.

  16. Paul via text: "Sorry, but more you watch Chelsea the more you see why Barca will turn them over. They won't get that much luck and they no longer have the quality to match Barca."

  17. David Morris on Twitter: (external) "How predictable that we'd concede a late goal, how predictable that it would come from a set piece."

Carl Anka on Twitter: (external) "Dempsey will surely be the most courted Premier League player this summer?"

  18. 2145
    SUBSTITUTION

Another Fulham change. Kerim Frei, who has been superb tonight, is replaced by Alex Kacaniklic.

  19. 2144

More chances for Fulham. John Arne Riise is forced wide after surging into the area and his shot is deflected wide. From the resulting corner, Orlando Sa gets his head on the ball but Petr Cech is perfectly placed to keep it out.

  20. 2141
    SUBSTITUTION

Chelsea bring on Didier Drogba for Ramires. They want all three points, but so do Fulham...

  21. 2139
GOAL Fulham 1-1 Chelsea - Clint Dempsey (82 mins)

A tale of two Damien Duff corners, this goal. Petr Cech saves Chelsea's bacon first time around with a brilliant reaction stop from Aaron Hughes's near-post header but he can do nothing to keep out Clint Dempsey's effort when the Fulham striker rises to nod goalwards from the next corner. It took a flick off Gary Cahill on its way in and it means we are all-square, with seven minutes of the 90 to go.

  22. 2139
    SUBSTITUTION

Fulham have a corner but before they take it, Mahamadou Diarra is being replaced by Orlando Sa.

  23. Okogyeabour on Twitter: (external) "How Fulham is behind is beyond my imagination, has been the better team by far."

XSO on Twitter: (external) "Chin up Ivanovic, only 20 minutes left of chasing Riise and Frei's shadows."

  24. 2132

Fulham's best moment for a while, with Damien Duff's chipped cross headed clear by Branislav Ivanovic in the nick of time with Mahamadou Diarra arriving like a train at the far post. Chelsea are not seeing much of the ball but they are defending solidly enough right now.

  25. BBC Radio 5 live summariser Nigel Worthington at Craven Cottage: "Fulham are in the Premier League for next season, with enough points so why not have a go for the game and try and force the situation."
