Many places will become dry this evening, although an isolated shower is still possible overnight, perhaps locally heavy in the south. Feeling on the cool side in the northerly breeze.

Met Office warnings issued for South Yorkshire

  1. Active

    Yellow warning of rain

Showers affecting parts of northern England and north Wales through Monday afternoon may merge together on Monday evening to give a period of more prolonged and at times very heavy rainfall. This will then sink southeastwards through parts of the Midlands and East Anglia overnight and into Tuesday morning.

There is a great deal of uncertainty in these developments with many areas only seeing small amounts of rainfall. Where the heaviest rain falls some localised flooding is possible and the public should be aware of the potential for disruption.
